The second largest dam in the United States, Shasta Dam is located at the west end of Lake Shasta. Completed in 1945, Shasta Dam is the highest center overflow dam in the world, and is three times higher than Niagara Falls. - Take a Hike - or Bike
There are many trails on Shasta Lake, all of which are marked on your copy of the Shasta Lake map. You can hike any of these trails, or ride them on your mountain bike. Clickapudi Trail in Jones Valley is a very popular 10-mile loop for mountain biking.

There are an array of enjoyable links in the area. Just 15 minutes south of the lake is Gold Hills Golf Club, 6164 yards winding through the oaks. Try www.goldhillsgolf.com for tee times and rates.
